London’s Pop-up ‘Pignic’
Coming to London in May is a little event called ‘The London Pignic’, which involves a picnic with cute micro-pigs. Yes, you read that correctly. Tiny, adorable micro-piggies.
Following the trend of upcoming pop-ups and animal cafes in London (Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium, Annie the Owl, Porridge Cafe), Yelp and Petpeggies have jumped on the band-wagon to create this piggy educational evening.
Tickets will include the full evening, including food, a piggy themed cocktail, pig themed education and activities, and, of course, the most adorable litter of micro piglets. You will have to RSVP through your Yelp account to have a shot of getting a ticket.
All cuteness aside, the event’s aim will be to educate the public about micro-pigs in hope that fewer pigs will end up being abandoned. They will be working with animal charity and welfare groups to educate about micro pigs and micro pig ownership. Also, money from all tickets will go to Farms not Factories.
When: May 21 – 22, Thursday and Friday, 6 to 10pm. May 23 – 25, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, 2 to 6pm.
Where: The Proud Archivist, 2-10 Hertford Road, Regent Canal, London N1 5ET
