Healthy Food Places to Eat in London

Here at Locappy, we love to eat healthy and luckily for us London has seen an increase in healthy restaurants. This, contrary to popular belief, proves that healthy eating can be delicious! London now has restaurants revolving around super-foods without the nasty additives, that is scientifically proven to put you in a good mood. Along with hashtags, healthy eating has become a growing trend in todays world. What better way to feel good than to eat good and in turn, look good. After all, it has been scientifically proven that eating healthy can make you feel amazing, while providing so much natural goodness to your system. Here is a list of raw and healthy restaurants in London Locappy has come across:

The Good Life Eatery

This little cafe in Chelsea is such a treat and has to go down as a good healthy place to eat in London. The place itself is rather small and will seat about 25 people and tends to get quite busy during the lunch period. The menu is not too extensive, containing mostly salads and sandwiches, which you can add extra proteins to. They have a sweet abundance of fresh drinks and smoothies packed with super-foods. One definite favourite is the Hulk Smoothie, which is packed with goodness including coconut milk, Madagascar vanilla, and Spirulina, which is known to help remove toxins from the blood and boost the immune system.

Another winner is the Cocoa-butter smoothie for those who want a more chocolaty taste. The Goodlife salad is probably a safe choice for those for are venturing into the world of healthy foods, as it tastes good and has kale, quinoa, sweet potatoes, lentils and walnuts with a tahini vinaigrette, and is filled with all the yummiest introductory health foods. However, while we did think the food was delicious, we did think it was a bit on the pricey side. But if you’re open to that, the Good Life Eatery is definitely a healthy cafe to add to your list.

This plant-based artesian restaurant is located in the always lovely Notting Hill area. The place is also small and doesn’t seat too many people, so you’ll need to make a reservation if you plan on going in the rush hours. All of the food is cold pressed, and it was nice to try delicous healthy alternatives to otherwise ‘unhealthy foods’, such as Lasagne Verdure and the Italian Pizza. Additionally, the food was presented with such finesse. We have to say, that the best thing on the menu hands down (not including desserts), is the Kohlrabi Ravioli with Nut ‘Cheese’. We’ve always thought that healthy foods were a less yummy alternative, but this dish totally changed our minds, it was that good.

If you go to Nama you cannot leave without trying the fermented blueberry cheesecake. We still can’t believe how delicious it was! They also have a great selection of smoothies and juices that are really amazing and filled with nutritional goodness. We will definitely be going back for the ravioli and the cheesecake, no doubt. If you’re really serious about consistently eating healthy and want to detox, Nama offers a raw food and juice cleanse programme, making it a great healthy place to eat in London.

Tanya’s Cafe

Tanya’s Cafe is located in the My Hotel in Chelsea is an amazing healthy place it eat in London. Everything at Tanya’s is raw, plant-based, hand-picked, organically grown, ethically-sourced, and free from refined sugar or gluten, which basically means you can’t get much healthier than that. The skylight offers natural light coming down which gave the place an organic feel, along with the potted plants on the wall. They serve both breakfast and lunch. Everything of course is cold-pressed to keep in all the nutrients and there is quite a few options to choose from.

For the mains, we ordered the Nori Wrap which was quite a pleasantly crunchy surprise, which also comes along with a healthier version of ranch dip which really made the dish. If you love avocado then the side of side avocado in super seed mix is a good option. The latte and the hot chocolate were definitely different to the normal versions of the drinks, as its made with healthier alternatives, but we did love the mugs they came in <3. My Alkaliser (kale, spinach, lemon) and My Warrior (almond milk, coconut H2O, vanilla protein) are also a great choice of drinks to check out.

Raw Press

This little juice shop is located on Dover Street in a Wolf & Badger boutique. They offer fresh daily-squeezed, cold-pressed juices that are incredibly delicious. Even though the main focus in on the juices, Raw Press is still a healthy place to eat ing London as well. The Sweet Green juice (pineapple, apple, kale, Swiss chard, lemon, ginger, mint) is hands down our favourite, it incorporates the perfect blend of sweet and healthy. 2nd place goes to Uprooted, if you like carrots and oranges, it’s a pretty yummy blend of all ingredients similar. Locappy only enjoyed the juices from Raw Press, but they also serve food and snacks. The menu offers acai bowls, salads, granola, and artesian bread served with nut butter, yum! This spot is also a great place to sit down, read a paper, and work on your laptop – check out Locappy’s article about best work cafes in London. You can also get your fix at their smaller location in Notting Hill.

Juice Baby

Don’t be fooled by the name, this recently opened cafe serves some delicious treats as well! The main focus of course is on their delicious drinks, ranging from amazing juices, nut milk, and herbal teas. The Candy Sweets (carrot, beetroot, pineapple, lemon) has to be Locappy’s favourite juice. If you don’t have time to sit down and relax while you have your drinks, Juice Baby also serves healthy juice shots such as hot sauce (pure ginger) – we can’t promise that it won’t water your eyes while your drink it, but it will do your body the world of good in clearing the microcirculatory channels of the body. They also have little energy balls which are tasty and have a nice crunch to them and for your sweet tooth they have caramel slices and brownies which are heavenly! Definitely a healthy food place in London worth checking out.
