G’day everyone! Don’t drink with the flies this January 26th, instead drink with your Aussies as you celebrate this glorious day. Below is a koalafied list of places to celebrate Australia Day 25/26th in London. Ace!

 

WEST/CENTRAL

 

JETLAG

First on the list of places to celebrate Australia Day in London is Jetlag! Celebrate with a full on Aussie day binge with movies and Triple J Hottest 100. This years Australia Day is on a Monday and Jetlag says ‘what better way to celebrate than calling in a sickie and taking the day off enjoying classic Australian films and Triple J Hottest 100. Jetlag will have a fridge stacked with brews from the Land Down Under which includes Little Creatures, Coopers and James Boags. You’ll get to bog in their surf and turf sliders, Aussie burgers, Kangaroo steak, as well as little snacks. Movies start from 3pm and will play as follows; The Castle at 3pm, Strictly Ballroom at 5pm, Muriel’s Wedding at 7pm, Adventures of Priscilla - Queen of the Desert at 9pm. Bet your grinning like a shot fox at that.

WALKABOUT

What better place to celebrate Australia Day in London than in an Australian-themed bar! The bash will begin at 10am and last till 3am. There will be ace entertainment throughout the day, with Triple J’s Hottest 100 – top 20 at 10am. The live bands kick in at 4.30pm (Hoops, Plan B) and in the evening Walkabout’s DJ Wedge will be spinning till 3am with DJ Mr T in the Beach club 4pm-3am. The first 200 guests to arrive from 12pm will get a free pie. The VIP booths are sold out and all other tables will be first come first served on the day.

Tickets: free from 10am-12pm, 12pm onwards £5.

BLOOMSBURY LANES

Celebrate Australia Day in London at the awesome Australian-owned Bloomsbury Lanes. This promises to be a corker of a party while you enjoy the best of Australian food and drinks (Coopers Pale Ale, sausage rolls, laminations, and a classic sausage sizzle). Party on with Bloomsbury’s resident DJs and live band music while you dance the night away with the Aussie crowd. Starts at 4pm-1am and theres a £50 bar tab to be won, along with a best dressed competition!

COMEDY CARNIVAL

Celebrate Australia Day in London with laughter on an amazing night of stand up comedy at Comedy Carnival/Bar Rumba. The show will feature some of Australia’s best comedians followed by a fantastic club night. The comedians brought to rock up the comedy stage are ‘Time Out Comedy Award winner Felicity Ward, Melbourne Comedy Festival star Wayne Deakin, Edinburgh Comedy Festival star Damian Clark and token Aussie (Kiwi) Javier Jarquin.’

The show starts at 8pm and ends at 10pm. After the show ends, Bar Rumba will be hosting a club night featuring Triple J’s hottest 100 and classic hits till 3am.

Tickets: start from £14 in advance for the show and after party.

WAXY O’ CONNORS

Celebrate Australia Day in London in an Irish bar – too right! O’ Conners is not too bothered about being an Irish bar celebrating Australia Day, because its going to do an ace job at it. They’ll have a whole host of ripper events, with live music from the spectacular Hares from 9pm to special turps (drinks) promo and an Australian themed menu. Waxy O’ Connors promises its gonna be a corker!

BELUSHI’S

Belushi’s is not kidding around when it comes to celebrating Australia Day in London as they’re going for a Australia Day weekend! Four days of fun Australian festivities. Belushi’s won’t mind if your an Aussie or not, they just want everyone to join in on the fun and celebrate an absolute ace few days. There will be ‘Australian sporting victories on the big screens, awesome Aussie movies, Triple J’s hottest 100, beach games, BBQ’s plus a bunch of giveaway’s, competitions and prizes’ – what more could an Aussie want?! In addition to the fun events, Belushi’s will have an Australian food menu that includes the famous Aussie Works Burger, the Original Parmy and many Aussie brews (Fosters 4 for £10) – so bog into that! Belushi’s will also be having a Fair Dinkum photo competition, in which 2 night away in Europe for you and a friend is up for grabs.

QUEEN OF HOXTON

Australia Day is right around the corner and Queen of Hoxton are ready for another WigWam Bam celebration. Expect a menu full of Aussie goodness with surf n’ turf on London’s biggest rooftop barbie, along with Kangaroo & pepper kebabs, ultimate Aussie burger, special Aussie grog, Australian brews and Triple J Hottest 100 playing in the background. Natalie Bang Bang and Laura-Mary Blood Red Shoes will be spinning the music till midnight. It’s gonna be an ace place to celebrate Australia Day in London.

ADVENTURE BAR

This retro bar will be celebrating a banging Australia Day party in London on Sunday Jan. 25th, with an outside BBQ! The barbecue will be offering ‘Frying Nemo’ burgers, Aussie burger with bacon & pineapple, chips, sausages and pies while also selling Little Creatures (£4), Coopers Pale Ale (£4) and Australia’s own Bundaberg Dark N Stormy (£5)! This rage will be going off from 12pm until 12am – so you can have a whole 12 hours of partying with your Aussie mates. Last but not least, celebrate Australia Day in London at Bison & Bird. Nothing bodgy about this party. Bison & Bird invites you to come in for a cold one on this Aussie day. All day they will be serving bundy and cokes for £2.95 and snakebites for £2.95, along with Aussie burgers and BBQ. Live music and DJs will also be accompanying this joint till 1am.
