Winter Lights Festival at Canary Wharf

Winter Lights Festival

One way to light up the start of your year is to visit the Winter Lights Festival in Canary Wharf. The beginning of the new year typically tends to be gloomy, but this festival will surely brighten up anyones day.

11 artists from 9 countries will showcase an impressive display of explosive illuminations during January. The horizon of the area will be lit up with amazing installations and features. Lasers, digital art, sculptures and projections are just a few things that this interactive festival includes. Perhaps the greatest thing about this festival is that it’s absolutely free!

From the 9-11th, the festival will be glowing with additional dazzling interactive and free light spectacles for a special Winter Lights Weekend, with pieces such as an LED graffiti wall activated by water and glow performers after dark.

To get there you can take the Jubilee line to Canary Wharf or the DLR to Canary Wharf or Heron Quays. If your feeling a little more adventurous, you can bike over there as there are over 300 barclays bike docking stations. An underground car park is also available. A little added bonus for O2 customers is that there will be free wifi available throughout the whole festival.

This is one festival we truly cannot wait to go to and should definitely be on your ‘things to do in London’ list.
